They make sure they can sell their subscriptions to as many people possible. That's why Netflix has done so well, their app is available on every device I have. I've never known a company, that distributed their content via apps, but restricts the devices to a small pool of devices. Plus the app only works until they do an Update, then you have to wait for somebody to rip the latest version from their TV to share to people on Android TV as it isnt available on the Android TV App store. But isnt great I keep clearing the app cache every time you want to watch another show. People have copied the app from the TV and shared it online, I have received a copy of an APK ripped from a Sony TV, This app works fine on NVIDIA Shield for one program, then comes up with an error stating "wrong device type error" So it proves the app works, just NOW TV choose not to release it for Android TV.īy deleting the cache and then reopening the app again, you can watch another show. Yeah, the don't officially support Android TV, but they do make an App for Sony Android TVs. As it will not install on a factory firestick anymore. Has the latest update added features that don't work with certain Firesticks?, like they did with the older models. I have cancelled my membership, not paying for something I can't access anymore. Not only has Now TV, restricted their app on older fire sticks, I have Nvidia Sheild's on the majority of TVs around my house, Now TV don't make an Android TV app, the only app I can use it on is this Firestick and now with the latest update it isn't working anymore. Went back to the store and clicked "Install" again and it takes me back in a loop. Ok, so it could be a problem with the fire stick, I have nothing on the stick, so reformatted it back to factory settings. I checked the app list, no Now TV app installed.
I then went to the store and clicked "Install" this then puts me in a loop of "downloading" then says "Installing" then takes me back to the store page to "Install" the app again. I cleared the cache, and all app data then uninstalled the app completely from my device. I then uninstalled the app, thinking it maybe a problem with the configuration of the app. I clicked "Update" this then started the update, when the update had finished it took me back to the App store to "Update" again. Was watching now TV on Amazon Firestick, all of a sudden it took me to update the App from the FireTV app store.
